This cemetery was located in a cow pasture about one-half mile
southeast of Laconia, Boone Township, Harrison Co., IN.
It is no longer there as the property has been sold several
times and the owners have plowed up what remained of the old cemetery.
The cornerstones are still slightly visible but no headstones remain.
In searching for the resting place of my Great Great Grandparents,
Joseph Anderson & Elizabeth Dodds, I came across this cemetery listing,
and thought it might be of help to others who might have ancestors buried
in this destroyed and forgotten sacred piece of ground.
The listing was copied by Frederick P. Griffin and
Samuel P. Hays, 23 June 1940. There is no way to verify this
listing so there may be some inaccuracies.
Some of the missing Birth Dates were calculated by
using the age at the time of death.
According to Deed Book A-2, page 532, 2 May 1855,
Beswick heirs deeds 265 acres to Ambrose W. Conley
except one acre set off for a graveyard.
