mine, by being caught between the motor and loaded cars while making up his trip.

Staunton Coal Company's No. 2 mine, by being caught, is it supposed, between a pit car and props. He leaves a widow and two children.

No. 3, Troy, Madison county. Deceased fell down the shaft with a car load of props, killing him instantly. He leaves a widow and four children.

December 14, 190720 , John Satorie, of Staunton, miner, aged 30 years, married, employed in the mine of the
DeCamp Coal Company, near Staunton, Madison county, was instamtly killed by falling clod, from the face of a room, where he was working.
His partner testified that they knew the clod was loose and that they had tried to take it down, but had failed; they then went on loading coal and
had just about finished loading a car, when the clod fell striking Satorie. Deceased leaves a widow and two children in Italy.

August 13, 194050, Joe E. Savant, of Collinsville, miner, age 54 years, married, killed by fall of slate at the
No. 2 mine of the Lumaghi Coal Company, leaving a widow and one child.

January 6, 192636, George Schade, of Collinsville, miner, age 54 years, married, died from injuries received
two days previous from a fall of slate in Lumaghi Coal Company's No. 2 mine. He leaves a widow.
SCHINDLER
December 27, 189811, Frank Schindler, of Staunton, a miner working in the Mount Olive & Staunton Coal Co's
mine, Staunton, Madison county, was killed by falling clod; he was wedging down a piece of clod and had only struck the wedge two blows
when it fell striking edgewise on the floor, then rolled over onto him. He lived only a few hours. Deceased was 43 years of age, and leaves
a widow and seven children.

October 19, 191225, S. Schmidt, of Staunton, machine helper, aged 26 years, single, was killed by mining
machine in the Mt. Olive & Staunton Coal Company's No. 1 mine, Staunton, Madison County.
SCHNEIDER
February 20, 18852 - Ellsworth Coal Co., John Schneider, a single man, was killed in No. 7 shaft. He was undermining a standing shot;
his partner working with him requested him not to do it, but he answered that he was an old miner and understood what he was doing. His partner
left the room where they were working, and a few minutes after learned that Schneider was killed. The accident occurred February 20, 1885.

May 23, 191830, Otto Schultz, of Worden, miner, age 39 years, married, was killed by a fall of slate in Kerns-Donnewald
Coal Company's mine. There were no props or crossbars within 14 feet of the face. He leaves a wiaow and three children.

September 27, 18842 - Ellsworth Coal Co., Henry Schutte, a married man, was killed in No. 8 shaft, September 27, 1884, by falling coal.
He was undermining a standing shot, when the coal fell and caught him. He left a wife and 2 children.

Coal Corporation's No. 2 mme.

February 25, 190921 , John Shinkosky, miner, aged 24 years, single, was killed in the Madison Coal Corporation's No. 4
mine at Glen Carbon, Madison county. He was in the act of mining a standing shot when the coal gave way and caught him, killing him instantly.
He was working in room No. 13 on the 14th stub entry.
